Harrop’s CDC Midge Cluster

This Rene Harrop pattern is essentially a Griffith’s Gnat with a tuft of cdc feather as a wing.  The cdc not only makes the small fly easier to see, it creates the impression of the clumped wings of a cluster of mating midges.

Hook : Dry fly;  #18 – #22

Body : Peacock herl

Hackle : Grizzly; palmered through body

Wing : White cdc
