Double Duck Caddis

Kevin Compton of Performance Flies has developed this caddis pattern. He calls this pattern the Double Duck Caddis because it uses CDC feathers twice in the tying of this fly. Since it is tied with a double use of cdc it floats very well and doesn’t need floatant. If you wish to “dry” the fly only use Frog’s Fanny or Doc’s Dust. Paste floatant should never be use on any cdc feather. The pattern illustrated was tied with some substituted materials. I will list the actual materials used in the original patterns. If you Google “Double Duck Caddis” you can watch a video of Kevin tying this fly.
