Madison Buzzer

Another pattern from Blue Ribbon Flies of West Yellowstone Montana.  It was designed to represent a “ball” of mating midges that occurs on the Madison River during the winter months.  The midge fishing on many western rivers can be some of the best dry fly fishing if the conditions are right.  Here in the East we tend not to do much fishing in the winter months, but if the water and weather conditions are right it might be worth a try to see if there are any midges hatching and trout feeding on them!  If you go to the BRF website ( blue-ribbon-flies.com ) there is a video on how to tie this pattern.
