BRF Yellow Sally
Back in the 90’s, Al Bowers, Paul Kurinec and I made many trips out West to fish the rivers in Montana, Wyoming and Idaho. Most of the rivers we fished had a hatch of yellow stone flies called Yellow Sally. We found an interesting pattern for this fly in Blue Ribbon Flies in West Yellowstone, Mt. This pattern looked totally different then most yellow sally patterns we’ve seen. We bought some and used them with success when the yellow stoneflies were on the water. This past season while fishing the Lacky a hatch of these flies came on and I tried the BRF yellow sally pattern from BRF. Both Al and I caught several rainbows on this pattern. Since then I have used this fly on Pohopoco creek and Lehigh River and caught several fish.
