When the light gets low and the evening glare comes on the water it can be difficult to see your fly on the water. At these times the color black is one of the easiest to see. This fly, a modification of the X2 caddis with its addition of a black overwing, makes it an excellent low light pattern. The name of the fly derives from its gold trim and black Mohawk just like the original Mr T. The tie is pretty standard and all the materials can be obtained from Blue Ribbon Flies in West Yellowstone MT. (www.blueribbonflies.com).
